Im really irritated.
A new kid showed up to play poker with a few of my friends and me. It was an 8 person game for about 10 hours, i eventually busted 20$ at the end(.10/.20 stakes). My main problem and many other people's was this new kid that came; it was his first real game. He saw nearly every flop. This is no exaggeration. He calls nearly every bet and catches lucky cards.

Just an example of a typical hand that night:
My hole cards: 10c 10s
His: Jh 3h
I raise preflop to 4x BB all but him and one other fold.
Flop: Qh 10h 6h
I slow play bc of flush draw: bet 50c and called by Mr. Maniacal and player x folds.
Turn: useless spade
I bet a dollar & called.
River: useless
Another dollar & called.

He flips over his JACK HIGH flush.
Preflop raises are to get hands like his out of play.

Im frustrated beyond belief and tolerance.
I do not have the patience to wait for the nuts: what do I do next time in this situation?

I played in this game today. Hes not exagerating about how this kid played. He busted out another guy when there was $1.75 preflop raise (big bet, considering 10c/20c blinds) with 35s. I dont know, these kind of people are really annoying to play with. I played in pots with him when i had the nuts, if not, i folded. I ended up with $28 bucks. All I can say is just wait for the nuts, and know that he only played when he hit a hand or a pair.

Chris this one also happened to me last week.Almost same type of guy.
I almost lose my patients.
In the long run people who chase cards lose.

Yes they do, but they manage to take others out in the process. Their lotto style antics will take out 2 or 3 other players and they still won't make the money.

Have the exact situation at our home game right now. It was just one, but now it's two lotto players. They call 4xbb raises with Q3s. The flop is 9J3 with two of their suite. They proceed to call the all-in made by the guy holding AA. Turn is garbage and river is Q giving them two pair.

The other lotto player called an all-in with his K3o against two players who had QQ and 88. Turn card gives him the K. He wasn't shortstacked so there wasn't a need to take such a risk.

The entire game does change and instead of being fun it becomes annoying. Our home game was established to have fun and improve our games beyond luck. We've been discussing how to handle these two, and it's not looking good for them.

Sure it may be good practice playing against maniacs, but at some point you have to decide the intent of your home game and playing against these people isn't fun.

You have a clear advantage over players like this. You know that no bet is going to get him out before a flop. Don't raise a rediculous amount to try to, b/c it won't work. Raise enough to get smart players out, but not so much that losing the hand will criple you.

You will have to lay down hands more often, but you know that when you have the nuts and players like that catch a pair, you can take them for a lot of money. You don't always need cards to win, but against players like that, you do. Skill will just help you get more money out of the hand.

Definitely, don't moan about these guys - they are surefire chip-donors.

Play a tight game, sure he's going to get lucky from time to time, but in the long run who do you think the math favours? The fool playing anything or someone playing premium hands?

Saying that, I play like that a lot in games among friends. It pisses them off something chronic, they can't read when I've got a good hand and are more often than not too scared to call me. A bit of a cheap tactic, but I get free blinds and small raises unchallenged early on.
