There was a person awhile ago posted a theory on watching other players as the FLOP is put down instead of looking at it first yourself so maybe you can pick up some tells. I want to know if it worked for him or for anyone else?

I've noticed the following. If you play according to accepted strategy, ie. raise pre-flop on good hands and re-raise on GREAT hands, then you don't get that many people on the flop. But, when you do, rarely do you get the same person twice. And even more rarely, do you see a difference in their reaction.

After I noticed a different reaction, I couldn't pin it down to a betting pattern, even after the showdown. It was a good experiment, but it just never really panned out.

I had many that were multi-way pots and couldn't watch everyone, so I basically gave it up.

It works - if you can sneak a peek as they are thinking about their next move and avoid looking yourself you can avoid giving away too many tells.

This will put you at an advantage psychologically, but it won't make you a professional just yet.
